Finalist: Innovation & Impact Awards 2026
As the founder and leader of the SAAM Project (Support for Access to Audiovisual Media), I’m delighted to share that we have been shortlisted as a finalist for the Outstanding Social or Cultural Impact category at the UEA Innovation and Impact Awards 2026.
After 10 years of the project’s journey, this recognition feels especially meaningful. It reflects not only the impact of our work, but also the incredible community behind it.
This milestone has been made possible thanks to the dedication of more than 600 volunteers and coordinators, past and present, who have contributed their time, expertise, and commitment over the years.
We are also deeply grateful to the 30+ charities and non-profit organisations who have trusted us and collaborated with us. Your partnership has been essential in helping us make audiovisual content more accessible to wider audiences; including people with hearing impairments and those accessing content in other languages.
This recognition belongs to all of you who have been part of SAAM's journey. Thank you for helping us make a difference.
